How to restore your computer to an earlier state

This article will help you if your computer have problems after you have installed a new software, driver or update your computer programs.
If a blue screen error occurs after you make one of the above operations, System Restore can help you to solve this problem.
With System Restore you can restore your system to a point in time before the problem began, and this won’t fix the problem forever, but it can make your computer to work again.
You can use this feature of Windows in two situations, one of these is when the Windows doesn’t start and the second situation is when the Windows starts.
Method 1: Restore your computer when Windows doesn’t start
Step 1: Restore your computer, and when the screen become blank, press F8 several times, until the Windows Advanced Options Menu displays;
Step 2: Use your arrow keys to select Safe Mode with Command Prompt, and then press ENTER;
Step 3: At this step you can be prompted to select a version of your Windows, and you will select the correct version, and then press ENTER;
Step 4: Log on to the computer using an Administrator account;
Step 5: Type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
[systemroot]\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
(Where [systemroot] is the drive and directory where your Windows system files are located — for example, “C:\Windows”)
Step 6: Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to restore the computer to an earlier state;
Method 1: Restore your computer when Windows starts
Step 1: Log on to Windows with an Administrator account;
Step 2: Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore;
Step 3: On the Welcome to System Restore page, select Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next;
Step 4: On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system checkpoint in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next. You might receive a message that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Review this list, and then click OK;
Step 5: On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows configuration, and then restarts the computer;
Step 6: Log on to the computer as an administrator;
Step 7: When the System Restore Restoration Complete page appears, click OK;
