Hibernation basically writes your current system state to a non-volatile memory source, such as your primary HDD or SSD, allowing you to turn off your system and restore your progress at a later date.

How to Disable Hibernation in Windows 7 and Windows Vista

In Windows XP you cannot disable the hibernation from cmd, and to disable the hibernation you should follow the next steps:
Step 1: Go to Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> Power Options -> Hibernate;
Step 2: Uncheck ‘Enable hibernation‘;
