Perhaps some of you will say that when an error occurs I will search on Google and find out how to fix this. It is better so, but what happens if the error can have many causes? This is where these methods of finding the cause of errors, methods that are easy to apply but we will tell you exactly what we want to know, and some cases of error.

A good method of finding errors caused by drivers is found in Event Viewer. To open Event Viewer, follow the steps to come:

Step 1: Go to Start -> type in the search box ev and then press Enter;

Step 2: Look under Custom at the Administrative logs;

Here you can find the problem with drivers which can occurs when you start your computer.

Another method to find the drivers problem is to open Device Manager and to search over the driver errors.

Step 1: Go to Start, type Device Manager in the search box and then press Enter button;

Step 2: Now look over the driver errors which generally appear with a yellow triangle;

A third way to find out where exactly, or what, makes your computer not work or give error is to do a diagnostic report.

Step 1: Go to Start-> type in the search box perfmon /report and then press Enter key;

Step 2: Take a while until the report is finished, but when the report is finished you can navigate through report to see if you have errors;

Last method which we present in this article is a method that uses a utility from Windows 7 called Find and Fix.

Step 1: Go to Start -> type in the search box Find and then press enter;

Step 2: Appear a screen where you can find utilities;

In this article I try to fix the problem when the Nexus One owners try to connect from Wired or Wireless and the connection cannot be done. To fix this issue you should update your Nexus One phone with a kernel that supports tethering, and after you update your kernel you can connect to Wireless and Wired.

Download the kernel update from here.

If you’re running on a user you should try to install like default installation.

Fix Nexus One problem

Step 1: First run a userdebug or eng build. This update won’t run on the user build, you will get verification failed;
Step 2: Download the update from here;
Step 3: Now you should copy the file to phone SD cars, but first rename the file into update.zip;
Step 4: In case that you have adb, try adb reboot recovery(more details for abd here);
Step 5: If you don’t have adb try the next steps:

Power off your phone

Turn it on whilst holding the trackball down

At the boot screen, use the volume keys to select bootloader then press the power button to select

At the next screen, select recovery and press the power button to select it

Step 6: The boot cross will appear, and shortly after a ‘!’ graphic will appear. Hold down the power button, then press volume up;
Step 7: You will see a menu with blue text. Use the trackball to highlight and select apply SD card update;
Step 8: The process should take a few seconds, after which you can reboot your phone;
Step 9: If you get verification failed you probably have a user build;
Step 10: You now have a tether-enabled kernel.

Next you can read the instructions for user build: All steps before step 12 are safe and wont touch your phone’s Rom /flash

Step 1: Get a copy of adb and fastboot (check the SDK or Google for them);
Step 2: Grab the Nexus One update zip and nexusone-zimage from the downloads page;
Step 3: Plug your phone’s USB in;
Step 4: adb reboot bootloader;
Step 5: When the bootloader screen appears: fastboot boot nexusone-zimage;
Step 6: Make sure the phone boots, if not, STOP

Note that Wifi will not work at this stage.

If the phone fails to boot, something is wrong. Pull the battery to reboot.

Step 7: Unzip the update zipfile, then adb push bcm4329.ko /sqlite_stmt_journals/;
Step 8: adb shell;
Step 9: su;
Step 10: insmod /sqlite_stmt_journals/bcm4329.ko;

If an error appears doing this, STOP;

Step 11: lsmod;

You should see ‘bcm4329′ listed. If not, STOP;

Step 12: mount -w -o remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system;
Step 13: cat /sqlite_stmt_journals/bcm4329.ko > /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko;
Step 14: Logout out of the phone;
Step 15: adb reboot bootloader;
Step 16: When the boot screen appears: fastboot flash zimage nexusone-zimage;
Step 17: fastboot reboot;
Step 18. Your Nexus One should come up;

Error:” The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.

There is not enough free space on partition (drive:). A total of space_size megabytes (MB) of free disk space is required. Try Disk Cleanup, or moving files to an external location such as a CD, DVD, or external hard drive, and then restart the installation.”
This problem occurs when the virtual memory paging file is reduced below the recommended size. Windows upgrade requires that the page file be the recommended size, and it requires that sufficient space be available on the drive to accommodate a default sized page file. By default, Windows stores the paging file on the system volume. Therefore, there is insufficient free space on the system volume when you try to upgrade to Windows 7.

To resolve this problem, we have two options:

Option 1: Free up space on the system volume
Use Disk Cleanup, or try to move files to an external location such as a CD, DVD, or external hard disk drive. Then, restart the installation. Make sure that required free space is available on the system drive.

To free up space on your hard disk, Disk Cleanup finds and then removes temporary files on your computer that you decide you no longer need. If you have more than one drive or partition on your computer, you are prompted to select the drive that you want Disk Cleanup to clean.

Steps to start Disk Cleanup:
Step 1: Go to Start
Step 2: Go to All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools-> Disk Cleanup

Option 2: Move the paging file to another volume
Step 1: Log on to the computer as Administrator.
Step 2: Go to Start, right-click Computer and then click Advanced system settings.
Step 3: In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Performance.
Step 4: In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab, and then click Change.
Step 5: Click to clear the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives check box.
Step 6: In the Drive [Volume Label] list, click a drive other than the one on which Windows is installed (typically, this is drive C). Under Total paging file size for all drives, note the value that is displayed next to Recommended.
Step 7: Check the Custom size box, and then type the recommended value in the Initial size (MB) box.
Step 8: Type the maximum size that you want to allow for paging in the Maximum size (MB) box, and then click Set.
Step 9: In the Drive [Volume Label] list, click the drive on which Windows is installed, click to select the No paging file check box, and then click Set.
Step 10: Click Yes when you are prompted.
Step 11: Click OK, and then restart the computer.

This error can occur when you have installed on your system Windows NT, Windows 2000 and also Windows XP.
There may be a physical problem with the disk, or an Interrupt Request Packet (IRP) may be corrupted. Other common causes include heavy hard drive fragmentation, heavy file I/O, problems with some types of drive-mirroring software, or some antivirus software. But in general, this error message indicates a problem in the Ntfs.sys file.

Note: When you start the computer, your system reboots at that point, it’s probably a hardware problem. It’s indicating to start by swapping out the RAM. If you have more than one piece of RAM, remove one; try getting to the recovery console. If it still does it, try the other.
If you follow the above steps and your computers have the same problem, then you should try to access your ntfs partitions by making an ntfs boot disk with NTFS4DOS. You can download it from http://www.geekswhoknow.com/files/ntfsinst.exe, you will need a floppy disk.

When your computer experiences an unrecoverable hardware or software problem, Windows Vista shuts down or restarts your computer. When this occurs, Vista will sometimes display a blue screen that contains a message that states that “Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.” At other times, Vista displays a message after you log in that indicates that Windows has recovered from a serious error or an unexpected shutdown. Then Vista prompts you to check for a solution to the problem. These errors are known as BlueScreen or STOP errors, and they can be caused by several things.

The BlueScreen causes can be a software problem or a hardware problem.

When your systems stop working, Windows can check for a solution, and also you can check if Windows has found a solution.
To check this, fallow these steps:
Step 1: Go to Start -> Control Panel
Step 2: Go to System and Maintenance -> Problem Reports and Solutions
Step 3: Go to Tasks panel and click Check for new solutions (Windows will check for solutions to problems).
Step 4: If a message is displayed indicating No new solutions found, click Close. Or, if any links appear under Solutions to install or Information about other problems, click each of the links and follow the steps provided to solve those problems.

Because troubleshooting system problems is a complex process, and hardware and software configurations can vary greatly, there are many approaches you can take to fixing problems that might prevent Windows from starting (booting) correctly.

Try System Restore

Step 1: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools
Step 2: Click on System Restore

Determine if the problem is hardware-related

Step 1: Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Administrative Tools
Step 2: Click on Memory Diagnostics Tool

Options to try if Windows starts but runs erratically or slowly

System Restore
System Restore can return your system files to a point in time before you noticed a problem. System Restore works without affecting documents, photos, or other personal files.
Step 1: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools
Step 2: Click on System Restore.

Safe mode
You can use safe mode to temporarily disable programs that start themselves when Windows starts. If one of these programs is causing a problem, you can start your computer in safe mode and then uninstall the program before it starts.
You can access the menu by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts

Options to try if Windows does not start at all

Startup Repair
Startup Repair is a Windows recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as missing or damaged system files that might prevent Windows from starting. Startup Repair is located on the System Recovery Options menu, which is on the Windows Vista installation disc. If your computer has preinstalled recovery options, it might also be stored on your computer’s hard disk.

Reinstall
If no other options have solved the problem, and you are sure that your computer’s hardware is functioning normally, you might need to reinstall Windows. A custom (clean) installation of Windows will permanently delete all of the files on your computer and reinstall Windows, so only use this option if all other recovery options have been unsuccessful. After the installation, you will need to reinstall your programs and restore your files from backup copies.

Installation might stop if the system cannot copy files. Here are some possible causes and solutions for this problem:

- Try cleaning your Windows installation disc. It might be scratched, smudged, or dirty. Clean the disc with a soft cloth, insert it in the CD or DVD drive, and then begin the Windows installation again. If your installation disc is damaged, you might need to replace it.

- Make sure your CD or DVD drive is working properly. If it isn’t, the disc might be vibrating too much for the laser to accurately read the data. For more information about this problem, consult your hardware documentation, or contact the CD or DVD drive manufacturer.

- If your computer has multiple CD or DVD drives, make sure your computer is trying to locate files on the correct drive. If your computer has a feature to disable CD or DVD drives that are not being used, disable the drives that you aren’t using. Otherwise, try inserting the disc into a different drive, and then start the installation again.

- Check to see whether a virus is on your computer. Run an antivirus program to scan your system and identify needed repairs. Be sure to disable the antivirus program before beginning the installation again.
