Sometimes you can have problems on Internet Explorer 8 with Google Toolbar, and the problem can be annoying. In this article you can read how you can solve this problem between Internet Explorer 8 and Google Toolbar.

This incompatibility appear because Internet Explorer 8 is in a special no-add-ons mode, and the incompatibility will cause Internet Explorer 8 to stop responding or crash.

To solve this problem, I have two solutions.

Solution 1: Update to the latest Google Toolbar

First solution to solve this incompatibility is to visit the Google Toolbar site to download and install the latest version of the Google Toolbar. This will resolve this issue.After you install the latest version of Google Toolbar, close the all Internet Explorer windows.

Solution 2: Disable the Google Toolbar

If you don’t want to use anymore the Google Toolbar, you should be disable.

Step 1: Close all the Internet Explorer windows;

Step 2: Open a new Internet Explorer windows- You will see a dialog informing you that the Google Toolbar add-on can cause Internet Explorer to crash or to stop responding;

Step 3: Click Always open Internet Explorer without this add-on;

After you do this, Internet Explorer 8 will not load the Google Toolbar when it starts.

In this article you can find methods that describe how to fix network connectivity problems which can appear in Internet Explorer.

When you have problem with network connectivity in Internet Explorer, the first step to solve the problem is to use the Network Diagnostic tool.
The Network Diagnostic tool can be used on Windows Vista, and the tool can test the network connection for error, and also can be used to determine whether network-related programs are working correctly.

How you can use the Network Diagnostic tool

Step 1: Open Internet Explorer and access the Web page that have network connectivity problems;
Step 2: In Internet Explorer should appear an error messages and in the error messages should be a link Diagnose Connection Problems, click on this link;

After it was clicked on the link, the tool will run, and on the finish will generate a report, report which can have the following results:

It was unable to find a problem.

It has detected a problem. Additionally, the tool will provide guidance on the next steps to take to troubleshoot the problem.

If you cannot find and solve the problem with Network Diagnostic tool, you should troubleshoot the problem manually.

How you can fix the network connectivity problems in Internet Explorer

Method 1: Test other known good sites

You should try other Web addresses to see if the problem persist or it’s just a problem with the site which you want to access.
Try to check other sites like: www.google.com; www.yahoo.com;. If you do not experience network connectivity problems when you type one of these addresses in the Address bar, we recommend that you contact the owner of the Web site where you see the problem. The site may be temporarily offline or experiencing other issues of its own.

If the connectivity problems persist, may be a conflict with other software that is installed on the system, and to solve the problem go to method 2.

Method 2: Verify the network connection

After you have verified the cables that connect the computer to Internet are secured firmly, follow the next steps:

Step 1: Verify external DSL modem, cable modem or dial-up modem connectivity

When you use an external modem, you should check the following:

Check 1: Verify the cable from modem

Check 2: If the cable that connects the external modem to the computer is a USB cable, you must perform some additional checks. A USB cable will have different connectors on each end of the cable. One end will be flat and rectangular, and the other end will have a square connector with angles on two of the corners.

Step 2: Verify the internal modem device connections

If the modem that is used to connect to the Internet is inside the computer, there should be only one cable coming out of the modem device.

Step 3: Verify the home network connectivity
If the computer connects to the Internet through a home network, we recommend that you check the items in the following list, as appropriate for your situation.

Method 3: Other connectivity issues or network-related issues

Other potential cause of your network connectivity problems is that the network or the Internet connection that you are using to go online is experiencing a problem. You can test if your connection has a problem following these steps:
Step 1. Restart the modem or the router

It’s possible that your Internet provider to change IP settings or network configuration, and you should update the changes. To make this updates, restart the device to create a fresh connection with newest settings.

Step 2. Verify the firewall or the router settings
If you connect to the Internet by using a router, it’s possible to be a problem with settings configuration, and to solve the problem, the settings should be updated.
To determine which is the problem, a mis-configuration or a problem with the router, you can connect your computer directly to the modem.

Because this step can be dangerous for your computer, to protect the computer against attacks, make sure that the firewall is enabled on your computer. The next section describes how you can find if the firewall is enabled or disabled on your computer.

Windows Firewall

Windows Vista includes a firewall, and this one by default is enabled. To find if your computer firewall is enabled, follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to Start -> Control Panel;
Step 2: In the search box at the upper-right corner of Control Panel type security;
Step 3: Click on Security Center icon, now should appear a window with four bars that are titled Firewall, Automatic updating, Malware protection, and Other security settings;
Step 4: Click the right arrow button on the Firewall bar to expand the bar, and the expanded bar will display one of the following:

If the Firewall bar is green, it means that the firewall is enabled.

If the Firewall bar is red, you may see a message that the Windows Firewall is turned off. To turn on the Windows Firewall and to cause the Firewall bar in security center to turn green, click Turn on now.

If the Firewall bar is red, and the message describes a problem with a third-party firewall program, we recommend that you disconnect the computer from the network, and then contact the vendor of that firewall program for more information about how to turn on the third-party firewall program.

After you connect the computer directly to the modem, try again to connect to Internet, and if doesn’t work, go to step 3.

Step 3. Verify device compatibility

If your modem or network adapter is not compatible with Windows Vista, these cannot work correctly. You can find if your devices are compatible with Windows Vista, but first step is to find the adapter model.
To find the adapter model, follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to Start, in the Search box type device manager, and then press Enter;
Step 2: Click the entry for Device Manager that appears in the search results;
Step 3: Expand the entry for the type of device that you are looking for. For example, expand Network adapters;
Step 4: Note the entries that appear under Network adapters;
Step 5: On another computer, start Internet Explorer;
Step 6: Type the following address, and then press ENTER:
http://whql.microsoft.com/hcl/

Step 7: Search for the network adapter that you noted in step 4. Information that is contained on this Web site will tell you if the network adapter is compatible with Windows Vista;

Method 4: Automatic troubleshooting on Windows 7

By default, Windows 7 include two Internet Explorer troubleshooters on a new installation, and these are:

Internet Explorer Performance;

Internet Explorer Safety;

How you can run Internet Explorer troubleshooters:

Step 1: Exit from all programs that running on your computer;
Step 2: Go to Start and then click Control Panel;
Step 3: Under System and Security, click Find and Fix Problems;
Step 4: In the Task pane, click View All;
Step 5: Click Internet Explorer Performance;
Step 6: In the new window, click Next;
Step 7: Click Close;

When you try to install Internet Explorer 8 you may receive errors messages, and the causes of errors can be different issues. In this article you can find different methods which can help you to solve installation problems.

Method A: Reset Windows security settings back to the defaults

You can read the steps to reset Windows security in this article.

Method B: Scan your computer for spyware and viruses

If you use your own antivirus and antispyware software, it’s recommended to update the antivirus and antispyware definition files before you scan your computer.

If you don’t have an antivirus program, you can use one of these antivirus programs. The programs are free to use, and some programs can be used online and others offline.

Method C: Temporarily disable antispyware and antivirus software

Before to disable the antivirus and antispyware software, make sure that the Windows Firewall is enabled. After you complete the steps, enable the virus scanner again.

Step 1: Disable your antivirus and antispyware software. Because on the market you can find a lot of antivirus or antispyware software, the disable procedure can be different from program to program. In general, to set disable an antivirus or antispyware software, you should look on appropriate icon for the antispyware or antivirus software in the notification area, then right click and click Exit or Disable button;
Step 2: Try to install Internet Explorer 8 again;
Step 3: When the installation of Internet Explorer 8 is finished, re-enable the antispyware and antivirus software;

When you encounter a 404 – File Not Found error it means that the page which you want to display is not available. The reason for this is that there may be a link which is wrong or the page which you want to display it was removed from the site. If one of these it happened the server send a page that display the message 404 – File Not Found.

How to fix 404 – File Not Found error

* Check the URL (Web address) to be sure it was entered correctly. One letter or digit out of place will get you an error message.
* Wait a few minutes or hour to see if a technical problem makes the website unavailable is.

Meaning of 404

When we expand the code 404, the first digit “4″ represents a client error. The server indicates that you did a mistake like misspelling the URL or requesting for a page that is no longer available.
The middle digit, 0 represents a general syntax error and could indicate a spelling mistake.
The last digit, 4 refers to a specific error in the group of 40x.
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) states that 404 Not Found should be used in cases where the server fails to find the requested location and is unsure of its status. Whenever a page has been permanently removed, the status code used must be 410. But hardly have we seen a 410 page. Instead, 404 Not Found page has become popular and the most commonly used error page.
